General Guidelines for Haldia Dock Complex, Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata Recruitment 2024:-
The job will last for 3 years. After that, it ends automatically. But after the contract ends, HDC, SMP-K can offer a new contract if both parties agree. In the beginning, selected candidates will get training for up to 1 year.
The chosen candidate must sign a bond on a stamp paper worth at least Rs. 50. This bond says they’ll work for the port for at least 2 years after their 1-year training. If they leave early, they have to pay HDC, SMP-K an amount equal to 12 months’ salary plus training costs.
During training, the candidate will get a fixed monthly salary of ₹30,000. After training, it increases to ₹57,000 per month. The annual raise depends on performance reviews. They may also get additional marine allowances.
The candidate will work different shifts – morning, afternoon, or night. They might also have to work regular daytime shifts. They’ll work 6 days a week with a rotating weekly day off. Sometimes, they might have to work on days off or holidays, but they’ll get a compensatory day off later.
They’re allowed 15 days of leave per year, with prior approval. Any extra days off will be deducted from their salary. They can also take half-day leave.
They can take up to 10 days off for illness without losing pay. Half of the unused sick leave can be carried over to the next year.
They and their family can get medical treatment at the Port Hospital in Haldia. They’ll also get partial reimbursement for medical insurance.
The candidate might receive ex gratia payments yearly.
If they have children, they might get benefits for DAV Public School admission.
HDC, SMP-K will contribute to a Gratuity Fund, and the candidate will get a telecommunication allowance.
They can get accommodation from HDC, but they have to pay rent and electricity charges.
They might need to work anywhere within HDC, SMP-K’s area.
If they go on official trips, they’ll get travel and accommodation allowances.

They’ll mostly report to the Deputy Manager (MO) but might have to report to other officers too.
They can use HDC’s canteen and transportation facilities.
They’ll be responsible for HDC, SMP-K’s money and property.
Either party can end the contract with 3 months’ notice. But it can be terminated immediately for poor performance or actions harming HDC, SMP-K’s interests.
They need to submit a character certificate from the local police upon selection.
