West Bengal Police Constable Recruitment 2024 Selection Process
In West Bengal Police, they hire Constables through a process. First, there’s a written test. Then, they check your physical measurements and see how fit you are. After that, you’ll do some physical exercises to test your strength and stamina. Finally, there’s an interview. The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board manages all of this.
A) Written Test (Maximum Score – 85):
If you’re eligible, you’ll get invited to take a written test. It’s multiple-choice and will take about an hour. There are 85 questions, each worth one point. If you answer wrong, a quarter of a point is deducted. The police board sets the test details and decides who passes to the next round based on these scores. The test covers general knowledge, English, math, and reasoning. It’s in Bengali or Nepali.
Questions of the Written Examination shall be from the following subjects:-
- General Awareness and General Knowledge – 25 Marks
- English – 10 Marks
- Elementary Mathematics (Madhyamik standard) – 25 Marks
- Reasoning and Logical Analysis – 25 Marks
B) Physical Measurement Test (PMT):
Based on the written test scores, a few people will be picked for a physical test. It checks height, weight, and chest size for men.
C) Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
If you pass the PMT, you can do the physical test. It’s also just to see if you meet certain standards.
D)Interview (Maximum Marks – 15)
Everyone who passed the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will get invited for an Interview. The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board will decide when and where the Interview will happen. During the Interview, they will check how much the candidates know about general things and if they are good for public jobs. They will also check if the candidates can speak, read, and write in Bengali or Nepali. After looking at the marks from the Written Examination and the Interview, the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board will make a list of the candidates who are chosen for now.
E)Verification of Character and Antecedents:
Make sure the people we pick have good backgrounds: All the people we choose for the job need to fill out a form. We will check this form very carefully to make sure everything is true.
F)Medical Examination:
i) If you’re chosen, you’ll go to a hospital chosen by the State Government for a check-up.
ii) The people picked need to be healthy in body and mind. They shouldn’t have any physical problems that could get in the way of their training or doing their job well.
iii) The candidates will have to do all the medical tests that the Department of Health and Family Welfare of the West Bengal Government asks for.
iv) Only the candidates who pass the medical check-up will be considered for the job of Constable in the West Bengal Police Force.
