Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has released a notification for the recruitment of 143 Non-Teaching positions across various departments. The JMI Non-Teaching advertisement, numbered 01/2025-26 (NT) and dated 27th June 2025, invites applications from eligible candidates in the prescribed format. The last date to submit applications is 31st July 2025.
Interested candidates must ensure their application reaches the Recruitment & Promotion (Non-Teaching) Section, located on the second floor of the Registrar’s Office at Jamia Millia Islamia, during working hours.
JMI Non-Teaching Vacancies
The recruitment drive includes a variety of positions ranging from Group A to Group C posts. These include:
- Deputy Registrar – 2 posts
- Section Officer – 9 posts
- Assistant – 12 posts
- Lower Division Clerk (LDC) – 60 posts
- Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) – 60 posts
In total, 143 vacancies are available. Each post comes with a different pay level and age limit as per central government norms. The pay ranges from Level 1 (₹18,000–₹56,900) for MTS to Level 12 (₹78,800–₹2,09,200) for Deputy Registrar.
Eligibility Criteria for JMI Non-Teaching Vacancies
Each post has specific academic qualifications and experience requirements. For instance:
1. The Deputy Registrar post requires a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks and five years of experience in an equivalent post.
2. The Section Officer post demands a Bachelor’s degree with 3 years’ experience as Assistant or 8 years as UDC and proficiency in computer operations.
3. The LDC post requires a Bachelor’s degree with typing speed of 35 wpm in English and basic computer knowledge.
4. The MTS post requires only a 10th pass or ITI certificate, making it accessible to a wider group of candidates.
Knowledge of Hindi and Urdu is listed as a desirable qualification for all posts.

Application Fee
The application fee varies based on the group and category:
Group A (Level 10 and above):
- UR/OBC: ₹1000
- SC/ST: ₹500
- PwBD: No fee
Group B and C (Level 7 and below):
- UR/OBC: ₹700
- SC/ST: ₹350
- PwBD: No fee
Candidates who applied earlier for similar posts under Advt. No. 01/2023-24 (NT) and still fulfill the eligibility conditions must apply afresh. However, they are exempted from paying the application fee if they attach the acknowledgement of their previous application.
Selection Process for JMI Non-Teaching Vacancies
Selection for these posts will be conducted through written tests, skill tests, trade tests, or interviews, depending on the post applied for. The final selection will be purely merit-based. No TA/DA will be provided to candidates appearing for the selection process.
The age limits will be relaxed for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC (Non-creamy layer), PwBD, ex-servicemen, and other categories as per government rules adopted by the university.
