CHESS-DRDO Apprentice 2025: The Centre for High Energy Systems and Sciences (CHESS), a premier laboratory of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) under the Ministry of Defence, has released an official notification for the engagement of Graduate and Diploma (Technician) Apprentices for a one-year training program.
Candidates who have completed their engineering or diploma courses in the last three years (2022–2024) now have a valuable opportunity to kickstart their technical careers with one of India’s top defence R&D institutes.

CHESS-DRDO Apprentice Eligibility Criteria
- Only freshers who passed in 2022, 2023, or 2024 are eligible.
- Candidates must have completed their degree/diploma as regular students from recognized institutions.
- Those with job experience or prior apprenticeship exceeding one year are not eligible.
- Postgraduates are not eligible to apply.

- Candidates must register on the NATS 2.0 portal: nats.education.gov.in
- Application form must be downloaded from the DRDO website: drdo.gov.in
- Duly filled application along with scanned documents must be emailed to: [email protected]
- The last date to apply is 21 days from the date of publication in Employment News.
CHESS-DRDO Apprentice Selection Process
- Selection will be based on percentage of marks in qualifying exams.
- No interviews or written tests will be conducted.
- Final selection is purely merit-based.
- Candidates must produce original documents and a medical fitness certificate at the time of joining.

How to Apply
To apply for the CHESS-DRDO Apprentice posts, candidates must first register themselves on the NATS 2.0 portal. After registration, they should visit the official DRDO website and download the application form (Annexure-A). The filled-in application form along with scanned copies of all required documents (such as marksheets, ID proof, and certificates) should be sent via email to [email protected].
Applicants must ensure that all documents are complete and clearly scanned, as incomplete or incorrect applications will be rejected. At the time of joining, selected candidates must carry a signed printout of their application and all original documents for verification.
