The University of Calcutta has officially announced the commencement of undergraduate admissions for the academic year 2025. Students can now apply for three highly sought-after 4-year undergraduate (Hons & Hons with Research) programs under the Faculty of Fine Arts, Music, and Home Science.
The programs include B.Sc. in Food & Nutrition, B.Sc. in Human Development, and B.Mus. in Music. Admissions will be granted based on eligibility criteria and merit, and the application process will be conducted entirely online.

The University will offer the following UG courses under the Curriculum and Credit Framework (CCF) 2022:

Course-Wise Eligibility Criteria
1. B.Sc. in Food & Nutrition
Seats: 61 + 6 (OBC-A) + 4 (OBC-B) + 6 (EWS)
Gender: Only female candidates eligible
Academic:
- Minimum 50% aggregate marks at 10+2 level
- Minimum 55% marks in Chemistry (Theory & Practical both required)
- Must have passed English with 100 marks
2. B.Sc. in Human Development
Seats: 65 + 6 (EWS)
Gender: Only female candidates eligible
Academic:
- Minimum 50% aggregate marks at 10+2 level (any stream)
- Preference to students with Home Management as a subject
- Must have passed English with 100 marks
3. B.Mus. in Music
Seats: 117
Academic:
- Minimum 50% aggregate marks at 10+2 level
- Preference to students who had Music as a subject
- Must have passed English with 100 marks
Note: Candidates from the West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education and Training or equivalent are not eligible to apply.
Relaxation for Reserved Categories
For SC/ST/PWD/Third Gender candidates:
- Minimum 40% aggregate marks at 10+2 level
- All other eligibility conditions remain the same
EWS/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates are eligible for supernumerary seats, which will not be converted if unfilled.
B.Mus. Course Specializations
Students enrolling in B.Mus. can choose from the following major and minor areas:
- Hindusthani Classical Music
- Rabindra Sangeet
- Bengali Songs
Additionally, students will study compulsory subjects such as AEC, SEC, IDC, and CVAC as per the curriculum structure.

Calcutta University UG Admission 2025 Documents Required
Candidates must retain the following documents for submission when notified:
- Printed copy of the submitted application form
- E-receipt of application fee payment
- Self-attested copies of:
- Class 10 Admit Card / Certificate
- 10+2 Mark Sheet
- Valid caste or category certificates (if applicable)
- Aadhaar Card
- APAAR ID / ABC ID
