WB Police Sub-Inspector Recruitment 2024 Selection Process :

The West Bengal Police employs a systematic approach in the selection of Sub-Inspectors, encompassing several stages. Initially, candidates are subjected to a written examination, assessing their comprehension and knowledge. Subsequent to this phase, their physical measurements are meticulously gauged to ascertain their physical fitness level. Following the physical measurements, candidates undergo a series of physical exercises designed to scrutinize their strength and endurance.

The culminating stage of this selection process involves a comprehensive interview conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board, which oversees the entire selection procedure, ensuring a thorough evaluation of candidates’ suitability for the role of Sub-Inspector.

The written examination, constituting a pivotal component, is subdivided into multiple sections, namely General Studies, Logical & Analytical Reasoning, and Arithmetic. The maximum achievable score for this written test is 85 points. General Studies encompasses 100 marks with 50 questions, Logical & Analytical Reasoning accounts for 50 marks with 25 questions, and Arithmetic contributes 50 marks with 25 questions, resulting in a total score of 200. The allotted time for the completion of this examination is 90 minutes.

Candidates who are initially deemed eligible proceed to the Preliminary Examination, a pivotal screening process. This examination, incorporating multiple-choice questions (MCQs) on an Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheet, aims to evaluate candidates in the areas of General Studies, Logical & Analytical Reasoning, and Arithmetic. The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board establishes minimum cutoff marks for each social category and position, taking into account the number of vacancies in each category and position.

The examination is available in both English and Bengali to accommodate candidates with diverse linguistic backgrounds. The successful completion of the Preliminary Examination qualifies candidates for the subsequent stages, namely the Physical Measurement Test and the Physical Efficiency Test, thereby advancing them further in the selection process.
