SSC has announced approximately 261 vacancies for Stenographer Grade C & D posts. The exact number of category-wise and post-wise vacancies will be updated on the SSC website in due course. Candidates should note that State-wise/Zone-wise vacancies are not collected by the Commission.

SSC Stenographer Selection Process 2025
The selection process consists of:
- Computer Based Examination (CBT)
- Skill Test in Stenography

- Objective type multiple-choice questions.
- Negative marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
- Questions will be set in English and Hindi, except for Part III.

- The Skill Test is qualifying in nature.

SSC Stenographer Salary 2025

In addition to basic pay, candidates will receive allowances such as DA, HRA, TA, etc., as per Government rules.
SSC Stenographer Application Process 2025
Candidates must apply online through: ssc.gov.in or mySSC mobile app.
- Register for One Time Registration (OTR) on ssc.gov.in (old OTR from ssc.nic.in not valid).
- Fill out the online application for SSC Stenographer Exam 2025.
- Upload required documents:
- Photograph (captured live)
- Signature in prescribed format.
- Pay the application fee (if applicable).
- Submit the form and take a printout for future reference.
Note: Candidates opting for Aadhaar authentication are exempted from uploading a pre-existing photo.
SSC Stenographer Exam Centres 2025
Candidates can choose three exam centres in order of preference across the SSC regions. SSC may change the centre depending on availability.
Regions: Central, Eastern, KKR, MPR, NER, Northern, NWR, Southern, Western.
