Educational Qualification for Steel Authority of India Limited Recruitment 2024
Candidates have to complete their Matriculation with 03 Three-year (full-time) Diploma in a relevant discipline from any Govt. recognized university/institute.
50% for Unreserved posts & posts reserved for OBC/ EWS. 40% for posts reserved for SC /ST /PwBD /Departmental Candidates.
Note: For Draughtsman posts Candidates should have 01 (one) year of experience as a Draughtsman / Design Assistant having worked in the AUTOCAD system for drawing preparation in Industrial / commercial establishments.
Age Limit & Relaxation:
The candidate’s age limit should be between 18 years to 28 years. The reservation of posts for SC/ST/OBC/EWS category is as per Presidential Directives / Govt. Guidelines.
The maximum age is relaxable by 3 years for OBC (Non-creamy Layer) candidates. Candidates belonging to OBC will be required to submit the requisite OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate in the prescribed format issued by the competent authority as notified by the Government during the financial year 2023-24 and a self-declaration at the time of the skill test.
Pay Scale: S-3 grade in the scale of pay of Rs.26,600-3%-38,920/-(S-3).
Selection Process for SAIL Operator-cum-Technician Recruitment 2024
Computer Based Test (CBT):
- Eligible candidates will take a test online in either Hindi or English.
- The test will have 100 multiple-choice questions split into two parts: 50 on Domain Knowledge and 50 on Aptitude.
- You’ll have 90 minutes to finish.
Qualifying Marks:
You need to score at least a certain percentage to pass
- For the general/EWS category, it’s 50 percentile.
- For SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy Layer)/PwBDs, it’s 40 percentile.
The passing marks are different for each job type.
Skill Test:
- Those who pass the CBT will be shortlisted for a skill test, with three times as many candidates as there are positions.
- If multiple candidates have the same score, they’ll all go for the skill test.
- The skill test happens at various SAIL locations.
Weightage:
- The CBT score holds 100% weightage in the final selection.
- If there’s a tie, the candidate with higher marks in their qualification will be chosen.
Panel Formation:
- A list of candidates will be made based on merit (1:1 ratio of advertised posts to candidates).
- This list is used if some candidates don’t take up their initial offer.
- The list is valid for six months.
Test Attendance:
You need to bring your call letter/admit card, and a government-approved ID, and undergo biometric authentication to attend the CBT/Skill Test.
