Education Qualification:- Candidates have to complete their Full Time Master’s Degree in Geology/Ph.D. in Geology to apply for the Posts.
Age Limit:- Candidate’s Age should be less than 40 Years to be capable of Applying for the Posts.
Application Fees of RITES Recruitment 2024
For General and OBC candidates, the fee is Rs. 600 plus taxes. For candidates from EWS, SC, ST, or PWD categories, the fee is Rs. 300 plus taxes.
Selection Procedure of RITES Recruitment 2024 – for Geologist Posts
Candidates will be selected based on Performance in Written Test/ Interview.
Candidates will be selected based on their performance in a written test and meeting eligibility requirements. The selection process has a certain weightage:
- Written Test: 60%
- Interview: 40%
- Technical & Professional proficiency: 30%
- Personality Communication & Competency: 10%
To be considered for selection, candidates from UR/EWS categories must score at least 50% in the written test and 60% in the interview. For SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PWD candidates, the minimum marks required are 45% in the written test and 50% in the interview, against reserved posts. There are no minimum qualifying marks required overall.
Candidates will be called for an interview in a ratio of 1:6 to the number of vacancies. The written test will consist of 125 objective-type questions, each carrying one mark, to be completed in 2.5 hours. There is no negative marking.
PWD category candidates are eligible for an additional 50 minutes of compensatory time. Selected candidates must pass a medical examination as per RITES Rules and Standards of Medical Fitness.
Candidates can choose to appear for the interview in either Hindi or English.
The appointment will be on a contract basis initially for one year, extendable based on mutual consent and performance. Selected candidates may be posted anywhere in India as per company requirements.

Physical Geology: Geological work of natural agencies – weathering of rocks and engineering considerations; Geological work of wind; Geological work of Running Water; The Concept of Isostasy; Geomorphic Processes and associated Landforms: Fluvial, Glacial, Aeolian, Coastal and Karstic landforms.
