The National Institute of Hydrology (NIH), Roorkee under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, has invited qualified professionals to attend the walk-in interview for temporary project-based roles. These include positions for Project Scientist-II, Research Associate-I, Junior Research Fellow (JRF), and Resource Persons for ongoing R&D projects. Engagement will be on a temporary and contractual basis, co-terminus with the project duration.

Project Scientist-II – 4 Posts
- Qualification: Ph.D. in Science or Master’s in Engineering/Technology
- Experience: 3+ years in R&D
- Emoluments: ₹67,000 + HRA per month
- Walk-in Date: 3 June 2025
Research Associate-I – 4 Posts
- Qualification: Ph.D. or Master’s with 3 years experience
- Emoluments: ₹58,000 + HRA per month
- Walk-in Date: 3 June 2025
Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – 8 Posts
- Qualification: PG Degree with NET/GATE qualification
- Emoluments: ₹37,000 + HRA per month

Resource Person (Senior) – 1 Post
- Qualification: Master’s in Chemistry/Environmental Science/Engineering with 6+ years experience
- Emoluments: ₹40,000–70,000 + ₹3,000 conveyance

Resource Person (Junior) – 1 Post
- Qualification: PG in M.A, M.Com, or MBA
- Emoluments: ₹20,000–40,000 + ₹1,500 conveyance

Educational Qualifications
- Project Scientist-II: Doctorate in relevant Science or Master’s in Engineering/Technology
- RA-I: Ph.D. or M.E./M.Tech. with relevant research experience
- JRF: Master’s Degree + NET/GATE or equivalent exam
- Resource Persons: Master’s in relevant stream with specified experience
Age Limit
- Project Scientist-II: Max 55 years
- Research Associate-I: Max 35 years
- JRF: Max 28 years
- Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/Women/PwD as per Govt. norms
NIH Recruitment 2025 Selection Process
The selection will be conducted through Walk-in Interviews. There will be no written test. Candidates are advised to report one hour prior to the interview time for registration. Selection is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project duration.
