The National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) invites online applications from dynamic and creative students for the Biodiversity Samrakshan Internship Programme (BSIP-VI). The internship aims to engage youth in biodiversity conservation and support the functions of NBA and State Biodiversity Boards. Online registration begins on 17th September 2025.
NBA BSIP-VI Internship 2025
Through this programme, interns will assist in the operationalisation of Biodiversity Management Committees (BMCs), preparation of People’s Biodiversity Registers (PBRs), and implementation of the Biological Diversity (Amendment) Act, 2023. The internship will run for one year, from 1st November 2025 to 31st October 2026.

NBA BSIP-VI Internship Eligibility Criteria 2025
The programme is open to a wide range of academic backgrounds. Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Educational Qualification:
- Postgraduate degree in any discipline.
- Candidates with a three-year undergraduate degree, currently pursuing postgraduation, may also apply (must provide provisional or completion certificate by 01 November 2025).
- Bachelor’s degree in four-year courses like B.Sc., B.E., B.Tech., Agricultural Sciences, Forestry, Horticulture, Veterinary Sciences, etc.
Age Limit:
- Candidates must be between 21–30 years of age (born between 01 October 1995 and 30 September 2004).
Selection Process for NBA BSIP-VI Internship 2025
The selection will be based on an online examination. The exam will cover topics such as biodiversity conventions, India’s national reports, environmental laws, and basic biological sciences. Scope and Key Responsibilities
Selected interns under BSIP-VI will actively support the NBA’s biodiversity conservation initiatives in multiple states and union territories. Some of the key tasks include:
- Operationalizing Biodiversity Management Committees (BMCs): Interns will help streamline the functioning of BMCs in various states and UTs.
- Preparation of People’s Biodiversity Registers (PBRs): They will assist in documenting local biodiversity and traditional knowledge through PBRs.
- Implementing the Biological Diversity (Amendment) Act, 2023: Interns will play a role in facilitating the Act’s provisions at grassroots levels.
The interns will be placed across multiple organizations including the MoEFCC, NBA headquarters, State Biodiversity Boards (SBBs), UT Biodiversity Councils (UTBCs), and other relevant institutions.
