The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) released its official recruitment advertisement for the post of Scientific Officer. A total of 7 Group “A” vacancies will be filled — 4 through Direct Recruitment and 3 on a Deputation/Short-Term Contract basis.
Eligible and qualified Indian citizens can apply in the prescribed format within 45 days from the publication of the notification in Employment News. Applications must be submitted offline to the IPC office in Ghaziabad.

Educational Qualification & Experience
For Direct Recruitment
Essential Qualification: Postgraduate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, or Chemistry from a recognized university or equivalent Associate diploma from the Institution of Chemists (India).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in the relevant field, particularly in drug analysis/research.
- Desirable:
- Ph.D. in a relevant subject.
- Research publications or post-qualification experience in drug analysis.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
For Deputation/ISTC
Eligibility: Officers from Central/State Governments, PSUs, Autonomous/Statutory Bodies holding:
- Analogous posts, OR
- 2 years in Level 8, OR
- 3 years in Level 7, OR
- 8 years in Level 6 pay scale
Educational & Experience Requirements: Same as Direct Recruitment.
Age Limit and Relaxation

Salary and Pay Scale
Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Matrix Level 10 under the 7th Central Pay Commission:
- Salary Range: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500
