Indian Overseas Bank LBO Exam Date 2025: The Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has officially announced the exam date for the recruitment of Local Bank Officers (LBO) under the 2025 notification. As per the latest update released by the bank, the online examination for the LBO post will be held on 12 July 2025 (Saturday).
The notification regarding the exam date was published by IOB on 1 July 2025. It confirms that all registered candidates—those who have completed the online application process including fee payment—are eligible to appear for the exam. The bank has also informed that the exam call letters and other relevant instructions will be made available soon on the official website of Indian Overseas Bank, which is www.iob.in.
Indian Overseas Bank LBO Overview
This recruitment is for 400 vacancies of Local Bank Officers in Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I) across six states. The vacancies are distributed as follows: Tamil Nadu (260), Maharashtra (45), Gujarat (30), West Bengal (34), Punjab (21), and Odisha (10).
Candidates will be posted in their respective states and are expected to serve there for at least 12 years or until they are promoted to a higher post.

Indian Overseas Bank LBO Exam Pattern 2025
The online examination is a crucial part of the selection process. It is designed to test the candidates’ reasoning, language skills, banking knowledge, and data interpretation ability. The exam consists of 140 questions carrying a total of 200 marks and is conducted over a duration of 3 hours. The breakdown of the exam is as follows:
- Reasoning & Computer Aptitude – 30 questions for 60 marks
- General/Economy/Banking Awareness – 40 questions for 40 marks
- Data Analysis & Interpretation – 30 questions for 60 marks
- English Language – 40 questions for 40 marks
Candidates who do not have proof of having studied the local language of their selected state in 10th or 12th class will have to appear for a Language Proficiency Test (LPT) after qualifying the online examination.

- On the homepage, find and click on the “Careers” link. It may be at the top or bottom of the page.
