The IGCAR JRF Recruitment 2025 offers an exciting opportunity for young and talented Indian nationals to pursue advanced research in Physical, Chemical, Life, and Engineering Sciences at one of India’s premier research centres under the Department of Atomic Energy.
Selected candidates will register for a Ph.D. program under Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI) and will be engaged in cutting-edge multi-disciplinary research. A total of 75 Fellowships have been announced. Candidates should apply online at the earliest.

- Category C: B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. Engg. in Chemical, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering.
- Category D: M.E./M.Tech. with valid GATE score.
Minimum Marks:
- 55% aggregate (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD)
Additional Notes
- Candidates awaiting final results can apply but must submit final marksheet/certificate by 31st December 2025.
- Candidates should ensure eligibility of their discipline as per the detailed notification.
- Degrees should be from UGC/AICTE recognized universities.
IGCAR JRF Selection Process 2025
The IGCAR JRF Selection Process involves two stages:
- Screening Test (for eligible candidates)
- Interview (for candidates shortlisted from Screening Test or those eligible for Direct Interview)
Screening Test
- Scheduled on 13th July 2025 in 9 centres: Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Mumbai, Indore, Hyderabad, Kudankulam, Guwahati.
- Candidates choose preferred centre during application.
