ECIL GET Selection Process 2025 – Explained
The ECIL recruitment process is primarily conducted in two stages:
1. Computer-Based Test (CBT)
The first stage is a computer-based online test of 100 multiple-choice questions based on your core engineering subjects.
- Duration: 2 hours
- Languages: English and Hindi (In case of any discrepancy, the English version will be final)
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer
You should be well-prepared in the technical subjects studied during your engineering degree to perform well in the CBT. The test evaluates your subject knowledge, accuracy, and time management skills.
2. Personal Interview
Candidates who qualify for CBT will be shortlisted for the personal interview round. Typically, four times the number of available vacancies are shortlisted.
The interview is held at ECIL’s Hyderabad office. Details about the date and venue are shared via email.
During the interview, ECIL assesses your communication skills, subject knowledge, and readiness to work in a government technical organization. You must bring all original documents for verification before the interview begins.
Document Verification
Document verification is conducted on the same day as the interview. You must bring the following:
- Degree Certificate and Marksheet
- Valid ID Proof (Aadhaar, PAN, etc.)
- Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS)
- CBT Admit Card
- Interview Call Letter
- Fee Payment Receipt
- CGPA to Percentage Conversion Certificate (if applicable)
Note: Failure to present even one required document may cancel your candidature.
Mark Distribution – CBT and Interview
- CBT: 85% weightage
- Interview: 15% weightage
To qualify, you must score at least 50% in each stage and 60% overall. This ensures that candidates have strong academic knowledge and practical communication skills.
Even if you perform well in the CBT, failing the interview or missing any document will disqualify you.
Bond Requirement
Selected candidates must sign a bond committing to work for ECIL for four years. If they leave the organization before the bond period ends, a penalty of ₹4 lakhs must be paid.
Final Merit List
The final merit list is prepared based on:
- CBT Score
- Interview Performance
- Successful Completion of Document Verification
Candidates selected will be appointed as Trainee Officers, and after one year of training, will be absorbed into permanent roles in the same pay scale.
Final Thoughts
The ECIL GET Selection Process 2025 is structured, transparent, and performance-based. This is a golden opportunity if you’re aiming for a government job in a technical field. Prepare thoroughly for the CBT, prepare your documents, and stay updated through ECIL’s official website.
