Eligibility Criteria for Civil Defence and Home Guard Meghalaya Recruitment 2024
Education Qualification: –
Sub-Inspectors –Â
- Candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University/ Institution.
Guardsmen –Â
- Candidate must have a 12th or equivalent from a recognized Board/ University.
Drivers –Â
- Candidate must have a 12th or equivalent from a recognized Board/ University. with a valid HMV/LMV driving license issued by the competent authority
Non-Combatant Employees –
- Candidate must have a 5th or equivalent from a recognized Board/ University.

Selection Process For Civil Defence and Home Guard Meghalaya Recruitment 2024
Eligible candidates will be called for a selection process based on their physical aptitude test and written test which will be conducted at the time, place and date to be notified by the Recruitment Board. The date and place shall be published in the newspaper and Departmental website. The post-wise selection process is given below:
(i) For Sub-Inspector – The written examination for the post of Sub-Inspector shall consist of the following 3 documents)-
(a) General English – including correct writing, essay writing, drafting, and grammar questions.
(b) Elementary Mathematics, Reasoning and Elementary Science (Multiple Choice/OMR) based
(c) General Knowledge (Multiple Choice/OMR Based)
(ii) For Guardsmen and Driver – There will be one paper in the written examination for the posts of Guardsman, Driver, and equivalent Only, consisting of elementary and basic knowledge of English, Basic Arithmetic, and Basic General Awareness. This paper will be multiple choice/ OMR-based and will carry a maximum of 200 marks signed.
(iii) For Non-Combatant Employees – There will be no written test for Non-Combatant Employees [NCE]. A Trade Test for NCE / Interview of 50 marks will be conducted.
The Scheme of the Recruitment Test:
1. For recruitment to the posts of Sub-Inspectors –
a. Physical Efficiency Test – 100 Marks
b. Written Examination – 300 Marks
c. Interview – 50 Marks
Total – 450 Marks
2. For recruitment to the post of Guardsman, Driver, and equivalent ranks –
a. Physical Efficiency Test – 200 Marks
b. Written Examination – 200 Marks
c. Interview – 50 Marks
Total – 450 Marks
3. For recruitment to the post of Non-combatant Employees-
a. Physical Efficiency Test – 200 Marks
b. Trade Test/ Interview – 50 Marks
Total – 250Marks
