Eligibility Criteria for Tarakeswar Degree College Admission 2021 |
Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2 ) or its equivalent examination are eligible to seek admission to the First Semester of the Six Semester B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (Honours and General) The course of studies provided he/she has also passed in English has full marks not being less than 100.
Eligibility Criteria:
a) A candidate taking up Honours Course in a subject must have obtained:
A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
Or
55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
Or
50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all the other clauses are satisfied.
Or
However, if in any Honours subject, the number of applications is so low that even the permitted intake of the college cannot be filled up, then the Principal may use his discretionary power to reduce the minimum requirement for admission in that subject. A written note in that respect should reach the Registrar for consideration of that decision for final approval by the University and the decision will be communicated to the Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal for information.
b) However, candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe Community taking up Honours Course of study must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate and 40% marks in the subject or related subjects at the previous qualifying examination, as the case may be.

Applicants should carry the required documents at the time of admission- Attested Xerox copies of mark sheets of Madhyamik and H.S. examinations should be attached with the duly filled-in admission form.
- Original Mark sheets should be produced at the time of admission.
- SC/ST/OBC students must attach an attested Xerox copy of the SC/ST/OBC certificate issued from the office of the S.D.O. with the admission form.
- SC/ST/OBC certificate in the original should be shown at the time of admission.
- Original Migration certificate from the University/Board is to be produced at the time of admission in case of migrating candidates.
- In the transfer case, the candidate must produce the original Transfer Certificate from the institution last attended.
- Original School/College leaving certificate from the Head of the institution last attended is to be produced at the time of admission.
- One recent passport size photograph.
- Attested Xerox copy of the admit card of Madhyamik examination showing date of birth should be attached with the admission form.

Rules for Collegiate/Non-Collegiate/Dis-CollegiateSelected candidates are requested to attend their classes from the very beginning of the session. The candidates who take admission after the commencement of classes, attendance will be counted from the very next day of their admission. Collegiate Candidates: Students are required to attend at least 75% of the total lectures delivered to them in the session. They are eligible to appear at the university examination.
Non-Collegiate Candidates: The students whose percentage of class attendance is 60 and above but below 75 of the total lectures delivered to them in the session will be treated as non-collegiate candidates. They may be sent up at the university examination if their short percentage is condoned by the university authority. Dis-Collegiate Candidates: The candidates whose percentage of class attendance falls below 60% of the total lectures delivered to them in the session will be treated as dis-collegiate candidates. They are not eligible to appear at the university examination. They may take readmission. |
Cancellation of AdmissionIf any student remains absent from his/her classes continuously for thirty days within the first two months from the date of his/her admission, his/her name will automatically be struck off the rolls, Fees submitted by the students at the time of admission shall also be forfeited. |
