JEE (Advanced) 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the following conditions to be eligible for JEE (Advanced) 2026:

  • JEE (Main) 2026 Performance: Must be among the top rankers as per the cutoff.
  • Age Limit: Must satisfy the specified age criteria (usually based on birth date).
  • Number of Attempts: A maximum of two attempts in consecutive years.
  • Class XII (or equivalent) Appearance: Must have appeared for the qualifying exam for the first time in either 2025 or 2026.
  • Previous Admission: Candidates who have previously been admitted to an IIT are not eligible (with certain exceptions).

The exam consists of two compulsory papers, each of 3 hours duration, designed to test in-depth knowledge in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
