[ Academic Session: Academic Session for both Hons. & Pass Course Degree students is initiated from 15th July and breaks off at 30the April of the following year. For the third year Honours students Classes begin immediately after Part-ii Examination.]

Admission Rules

a)Only those students who have passed the H.S. Examination of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent degree as recognized by the University of North Bengal are eligible for admission in the degree course. Admission to all Honours Course will be based strictly on merit.

b)Merit shall be calculated as per the following formula.

Merit=2S+T/6

T= Marks obtained in English + marks obtained in the subject opted for Honours +best marks of other two subjects excluding EVS and the subject opted for Honours.

S = Marks obtained in the subject opted for Honours. If the candidate does not have the specific subject opted for Honours in his / her previous Course, the procedure for Merit Calculation will be as follows,

Merit = T /4 T = marks obtained in English + best of other three subjects excluding EVS.

i) No Admission shall take place after the expiry of the Last date of admission.

ii) A candidate prosecuting Honours in a subject shall not be allowed to take up the same subject as elective.

iii) A candidate prosecuting Honours in a Language subject shall not be allowed to take up another Language subject as elective. As per G. O. No. WB (part -i) / 98/ SAR-354 dated Tuesday, September 1995 order and notifications by the Governor of West Bengal /Government of West Bengal Scheduled Caste and Tribes welfare Department, Writers Building, Calcutta-i ”For admission to the Course B. A. (Hons.) B.Sc. (Hons.) B.Com. (Hons.), SC of ST candidates getting admission should have in the Previous examinations qualifying marks, which are not lower by more than 25% form the marks obtained, by the last candidate of the general category. Candidates included in the general merit list will not be counted as a reserved category.

c) Intake Capacity In Different Honours Courses:-
English [ 92 ], Bengali [ 92 ], History [ 75 ], Pol. Sc. [ 75 ], Philosophy [ 45 ], Urdu [ 40 ], Geography Honours[ 15 ], Geography General[ 30 ],Accountancy [ 100 ], Mathematics [ 15 ]

d) The constitutional benefit of 15% reservation is allowed to S.C. and 7.30% to S.T,3% to PH. Students.

e) Each applicant has to apply in the prescribed Admission Form and has to submit the following papers along with his/her application form (duly filled in);

CHANGE OF COMBINATION SUBJECTS

Henceforth no change of subjects, and change form General to Honours Category and vice versa shall be granted after the filling in the Registration Forms, by the candidates of the respective Colleges, any change was undertaken by the Colleges, in this matter shall indicate a violation of University Statute, Regulation, Rules, Guidelines and Circulars, etc. on the Colleges

ATTENDANCE
A degree student must attend at least 75% of the classes held during the entire period of his/her course of study to be eligible for appearing at the University Examination as a Collegiate student / Attendance of above 60% but below 75% enables a student to be on- Collegiate.

DISCONTINUANCE OF STUDY AND MIGRATION

A withdrawal fee which is the same as admission fee is to be paid for effecting withdrawal of studies. Withdrawal is permitted if all the other fees have been cleared till the month in which such application is submitted by the student seeking migration.

Eligibility Criteria for Islampur College Admission 2021

  • In case the reserved seats are not fulfilled, General Category candidates will be considered for those seats. Reservation of seats as Govt. Rules
  • *Five seats in M.Sc. (Microbiology) will be field up from the applicants securing at least 65% in B.Sc. (Hons.) the level at a concessional rate.
  • A candidate taking up Honours Course in a subject must have obtained
  • A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
    OR
    55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
    OR
    50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all the other clauses are satisfied.
  • Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe Community
    Students belonging to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe Community taking up Honours Course of study must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate and 40% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination
