Application Procedure
- Log in to the Aliah University website https://www.aliah.ac.in and click on the link “Admission to PhD Programme”
- Create a new user ID on the Admission Portal from the link given on the university website https://aums.aliah.ac.in
- The candidate needs an ABC ID (Academic Bank of Credits) / APAAR ID along with Aadhar Number
- Fill in all details correctly and upload recent passport-size photograph and signature
- Pay the application fee of ₹500 through online payment gateway using Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking
- Print the submitted application form and payment receipt
- Submit hard copy along with required documents by 3rd December 2025

Selection Procedure
The University will admit applicants to the PhD programme through the following methods:
Block A: Candidates with valid UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR-NET/GATE/WB-SET scores – 70% weightage to test score + 30% interview
Block B: Candidates qualified in tests mentioned in Block A but with invalid scores or M.Phil/M.Tech degree holders – selection based on academic marks + interview
Block C: For Islamic Theology only – AURET marks (70%) + interview (30%)
