A big employment opportunity has been announced by Indian Railways as the online registration process for the Railway Technician posts under Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) No. 02/2025 has officially started. Candidates can now apply for a total of 6238 Technician positions across various units and zones of Indian Railways. The online application link is now active on the official websites of the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) from June 28, 2025.
RRB Technician Notification 2025 Out
This latest notification includes Technician Grade-I Signal and Technician Grade-III roles in different technical departments. All applications are to be submitted through the online portal of the respective RRB. The last date to complete and submit the online form is July 28, 2025 (till 11:59 PM). Candidates must ensure timely submission to avoid any server issues close to the deadline.

As per the official notice, 183 posts have been notified for Technician Grade-I Signal (Level-5 pay), and 6055 posts for Technician Grade-III (Level-2 pay). These roles include trades like fitter, welder, electrician, machinist, diesel mechanic, bridge technician, track machine operator, and others.
These positions are spread across various RRB zones, and full details including zone-wise and category-wise distribution can be checked in Annexure B of the official CEN 02/2025 notification.

Who Can Apply?
For Technician Grade-I Signal, the age limit is 18 to 33 years as on July 1, 2025. For Technician Grade-III, the age should be between 18 and 30 years. Relaxation in the upper age limit is available for reserved categories, as per rules.
Candidates must already have the required educational and technical qualifications from a recognized institution as of the last date of application. Those waiting for final results are not eligible.
For some Technician Grade-III posts, an ITI or Course Completed Act Apprenticeship is required in the relevant trade. For Technician Grade-I Signal, a higher qualification is applicable as mentioned in Annexure A of the notification.
Application Process and Fee
The application must be submitted online only through the official website of the chosen RRB. Before applying, candidates need to create an account. If they already have an account from previous CEN notices, they can use the same credentials.
The examination fee for General and OBC candidates is ₹500, of which ₹400 will be refunded after appearing for the Computer-Based Test (CBT). For SC, ST, PwBD, EBC, female, and minority candidates, the fee is ₹250, which is fully refundable after appearing in the CBT.

Selection Stages
The selection process involves a Computer-Based Test (CBT), followed by document verification and a medical fitness test. Candidates must prepare for the CBT seriously as 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
