Jharkhand High Court Recruitment 2024 – Detailed Discussion

Essential Educational Qualification – Candidates have to complete their Graduation Degree with a stenography speed of 80 words per minute (wpm) in English and a typing speed of 40 words per minute (wpm) in English on a Computer with permissible mistakes up to 05% to apply for the Posts.

Age Limit – The candidate’s Age should be between 21 to 35 Years to be capable of Applying for the Posts. Age Relaxation will be applicable as per Government Rules.

Application Fees – General EWS, B.C.-I & B.C.-II Candidates have to pay Rs. 500/- and ST/ SC have to pay Rs. 125/- as their Examination Fees via Online Mode.

Pay Scale – Candidates after getting selected for the Position of English Stenographer will be able to receive Rs. 25,500/- to 81,100/- Per Month.

Selection Procedure – Candidates will be selected based on Performance in Written Test / Skill Test / Interview.

General Eligibility Criteria –

Minimum Qualification: Candidates should have the required minimum qualification by the last date of submitting the online application.

Computer Skills: Candidates must be able to work on computers and should know how to type.

Computer Literacy: Candidates need to be familiar with computer applications.

Health and Character: Candidates should be in good health and have a good moral character. They should not be involved in any criminal activities or offenses involving moral misconduct.

Age Limit: Candidates should be at least 21 years old but not more than 35 years old for Unreserved & EWS category, 37 years for B.C.-I and B.C.–II category, 38 years for females (Unreserved, EWS, B.C.-I, and B.C.-II), and 40 years for S.T. and S.C. category (both Male & Female) as of January 1, 2024. Persons with disabilities (PwD) will get a further age relaxation of ten years.

Reservation Policy: The reservation policy of the State Government applies, benefiting candidates from Jharkhand only. Candidates from other states in the Reserved Category will be treated as Unreserved Category candidates.

Selection Process: Stenography and Typing tests will be conducted first. Candidates who qualify for these tests will be considered for the Personality Test/Interview.

Merit List: The merit list will be based on the marks obtained in the Stenography Skill Test and the Personality Test/Interview. The English Typing Skill Test is only qualifying in nature.

Important Instructions:

Language of Application: Fill out the online application form in English only.

Recruitment Process for English Stenographer in Civil Courts of Jharkhand and Judicial Academy, Ranchi:

Test Details:

Stenography and Typing Test: 90 Marks

Personality Test and Interview: 10 Marks

Procedure:

A 400-word passage in English will be provided for dictation as a trial for the English Stenographer post.

Before dictating the final passage, a trial passage will be dictated at the same speed to check the audio and computer systems.

The trial passage won’t be transcribed or evaluated; it’s just to test system efficiency.

After a five-minute trial, the final passage will be dictated at a consistent speed.

Candidates will have 30 minutes to transcribe the dictated passage on the computer.

The shorthand dictation will be for 5 minutes at a speed of 80 words per minute.

A typing test of 400 words will follow for 10 minutes at 40 words per minute.

Candidates should continue typing for the full 10 minutes, repeating the text if necessary, to demonstrate speed.

The typing test is qualifying in nature.

A panel of successful candidates will be created based on total marks from stenography and interview.

Only candidates three times the number of vacancies in each category will be called for the interview from those who pass the stenography and typing tests.

Note: The stenography and typing tests will be conducted on a computer provided by the examining authority.
