FSSAI Food Analyst Eligibility Criteria 2025
Candidates must meet the following educational and experience requirements as specified. No upper age limit applies.
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor’s / Master’s / Doctorate degree in:
- Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Dairy Chemistry
- Agriculture Science, Animal Science, Fisheries Science, Veterinary Sciences
- Biotechnology, Food Safety, Food Technology, Food and Nutrition, Dairy Technology, Oil Technology
Degree must be from a UGC-recognized Indian University or equivalent.
Essential Experience (as on application closing date):
- Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in food analysis.
- Experience must be gained after obtaining the essential degree.
- Experience from recognized institutions/research laboratories only.
- Experience during post-graduation/PhD programs is not counted.
Special Provision for Junior Analysts:
- Candidates already qualified as Junior Analysts (JAE) with 3 years of experience can directly appear for the Practical Examination.
FSSAI Food Analyst Exam Pattern & Selection Process 2025
The selection is a two-stage process. Candidates must qualify each stage to proceed.
Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Mode: Online (Computer Based)
- Qualifying Nature: Candidates must pass the CBT to be eligible for the Practical Exam.
Stage 2: Practical Examination
- For General Candidates: Qualify CBT first.
- For Pre-qualified Junior Analysts: Can appear directly.
- Discipline Choice: Candidates must choose between Chemical or Biological discipline at the time of CBT application. This choice is final.
Final Stage: Document Verification & Training
- Document scrutiny occurs only after qualifying the Practical Exam.
- Candidates who clear the Practical Exam and document verification must attend a mandatory two-week Food Analyst Training.
- Upon successful training completion, the Food Analyst Certificate is issued.
