Educational Qualification:

  • Science Disciplines: M.Sc./Integrated M.Sc. in relevant subjects with minimum 60% marks and required subjects at B.Sc. level.
  • Final year students may apply, but must submit final marksheet by December 2026.

BARC Scientist Selection Process 2026

The selection is a two-step process:

  1. Screening: Through Online Examination OR Valid GATE Score (2024/2025/2026).
  2. Interview: For screened-in candidates at BARC Mumbai (except Geology/Geophysics at Hyderabad).

Final selection is based on interview performance and medical fitness.

BARC Scientist Stipend & Salary 2026

  • During Training: ₹74,000 per month stipend + book allowance (OCES) / tuition fee + contingency grant (DGFS).
  • On Appointment: Basic pay ₹56,100 (Level 10) + allowances (approx. ₹1,35,000 per month in Mumbai).
