B.A. HONOURS AND GENERAL COURSES: Honours Subjects: Bengali, English, Political Science, History, Education, Philosophy, Sociology. Group A: History, Philosophy, Political Science, Education. Group B: Elective Bengali, Elective English, Economics, Geography, Sociology. General Subject With Honours Subject: 1 subject from Group A and 1 subject from Group B as General subjects except for Geography. General Course: Either 2 subjects from Group A and 1 subject from Group B or 2 subjects from Group B and 1 subject from Group A. Compulsory Subjects : (a) Bengali / Alternative English [BNGM/ENGM] – 50 Marks, (b) English [ENGC] – 50 Marks, (c) Environmental Studies [ENVS] – 50 Marks * Students opting for English (H) cannot select from Geography or Elective English as general subjects. * Students opting for Geography General can only take two other subjects out of Political Science, Economics & Sociology.
POSTGRADUATE COURSES: The College provides Post Graduate Courses in Bengali, Education, English, Environmental Studies, History, Political Science, Sanskrit, Geography, and Master of Social Work (MSW) under the Distance Education Programme of Rabindra Bharati University.
Candidates are hereby notified that there will be counselling for Admission in Different honors and general Courses. candidates who will be selected must attend the Counseling. Seats will be offered merit listwise. Aspirants will get the offer for admission on the basis of the list. Finally, the Number of Seats will be the key factor in getting admission.
How to Apply for Barasat College
Well, to get admission candidates will have to go through the application procedure. To apply candidates must follow these steps written below…

- After that, the candidate must upload the scanned copy of his/her photograph
(not more than 100 KB). Scanned copies of documents like –
i) M.P. Admit Card
ii) H.S. Mark sheet
iii) Cast Certificate
iv) PH Certificate - Subsequently, students should fill in the academic details and submit the required processing fee to complete the registration process.
- Candidates can submit the processing fee through online payment modes such as net banking, credit card, and ATM cum debit card or through bank challan.

- Once all the details are filled in and the fee paid students need to wait till the merit list publishes. As per their preference (Hons/Gen) and their merit point name will be published against which they need to take online admission on prescribed dates.
